SUNCHILD é mais um grande projeto do talentoso e prolífico músico ucraniano Antony Kalugin, que tem também sob a sua concepção as bandas KARFAGEN e HOGGWASH.
Sob o nome Sunchild, ele reuniu uma série de outros músicos ucranianos para completar seus teclados impressionantes e seu talento nas letras. A música é progressiva com variação de ritmos, muitos teclados e guitarras viajantes. Uma grande variedade de metais também são usados. Kalugin faz a maior parte dos vocais, em inglês, mas vocalistas convidados também participam adicionando uma dimensão ainda maior. O álbum duplo de estréia The Gnomon apresenta três músicas com mais de 16 minutos, interligadas e complementares.
Kalugin é jovem (nascido em 1981) mas a sua já vasta experiência como músico profissional o levou a um lugar elevado entre os jovens artistas e The Gnomon é um dos melhores discos lançados nos últimos anos.
