O vocalista e guitarrista Tim Bowness e multi-instrumentista Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree/Blackfield) como NO-MAN produziram em quase 20 anos algumas das músicas mais intrigantes. Deles é uma abordagem intransigente que liga o perímetro de rock e pop com uma miríade de influências distantes, incluindo neo-clássica, jazz, dub e tecno.
A música é essencialmente sonora com base em sintetizadores. As letras em sua maioria parece enfrentar problemas de relacionamento, a perda de entes queridos e outros fatos da vida, amor e perda. Ozric Tentacles é uma banda lendária formada no underground britânico no início dos anos 80, inspirada por uma infinidade de gêneros musicais e músicos. Uma fusão de sons e estilos complexos, do Krautrock, Steve Vai, Hendrix, Steve Hilage até a música árabe étnica eletrônica.

A essência do Ozric Tentacles é uma música livre alheia às tendências da moda e com a intenção de explorar a música experimental instrumental com um zelo obsessivo.

A banda cresceu participando de festivais livres para fãns de space-rock, dub, psicodelia chegando a raves de house e techno.
